Glossary
- Internationalisation: Abbreviated to i18n, this refers to the process of making your application available in more than one language.
- Tokenisation: This refers to the process of labelling each phrase in your application. The label for a phrase is a token.
- Translation: This refers to the process of turning each phrase from source language into another. This is distinct from tokenisation, which just seeks to name each phrase.
- Interpolation: Inserting one string into another at a defined location:
Hello {{name}}
. - Abstract Syntax Tree: This is a data structure which can be used to describe our application.
- Translation Management Suite: This is a third party service which stores your dictionary (e.g Locize, Phrase)
